Consumer Choices Option Program

Consumer Choices Option (CCO) is an Iowa Medicaid program for Iowans with disabilities and aging Iowans. CCO allows individuals on Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waivers more flexibility over how their services are provided. It gives the member control over their Medicaid waiver dollars so they can develop a plan to meet their needs by directly hiring their own employees or purchasing their services. An Independent Support Broker (ISB) will help the CCO member develop a budget based on the monthly funds approved by their case manager.

To participate in the CCO program, you must live in the state of Iowa, receive Medicaid funding through an HCBS waiver and be referred by a case manager.

Veridian Fiscal Solutions is in partnership with the Consumer Choices Option program as the Financial Management Service (FMS) provider for CCO. Veridian Fiscal Solutions has been in partnership with Iowa Medicaid and the Consumer Choices Option program since 2007.

To learn more about the CCO program, visit the Iowa Medicaid web site or ask your MCO.

Reviewing your Payroll Tax Withholdings

If you are an employee and have not already done so, it is strongly encouraged that you review your current payroll tax withholdings. If any changes are required, you will want to submit a 2021 W-4 to Veridian as soon as possible.

You can obtain a blank copy of the W-4 on our website under Help -> Forms and Resources -> Forms.

Important: if you filed as “exempt” for your payroll tax withholdings in the year 2020 and intend to do so for 2021, you are required to submit a 2021 W-4 claiming “exempt” to Veridian no later than February 15, 2021. Failure to do so will result in any payroll issued to you after this date being taxed at the single filing rate.

For more information on the above and how to complete the Federal W-4, please reference the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) W-4 webpage.
